What is the Equitable Excellence Scholarship?
The Equitable Excellence Scholarship is awarded by the Equitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Equitable. This financial services firm focuses on ethical investing and insurance products and serving its clients effectively.
The scholarship awards graduating high school seniors with $5,000 scholarships that renew each year for 4 years or one-time $2,500 scholarships to cover upfront costs of education. Recipients also receive access to development opportunities and engagement programs to help them succeed in college and beyond.

Eligibility requirements
Before you apply, make sure that you meet these requirements:
Current high school senior who plans to enroll full-time in an accredited 2- or 4-year U.S. college or university for the next academic year
U.S. citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico
Willing to provide a release to publicize your identity and information about your achievements, along with photographs for use in Program promotion/information
The application
The Equitable Excellence Scholarship accepts applications online. Students will need to provide:
Applicant information
Education information
Honors and rewards, both academic and extracurricular
Extracurricular activities, including those you participate in and how long you’ve participated
A high school transcript
SAT or ACT scores
A letter of recommendation
The Foundation notes that students who have achievements related to reducing financial, environmental, health, or emergency preparedness risks or around empowering society to face those risks are encouraged to apply. If possible, focusing on those achievements in your essay or having your recommender cover those achievements may help.
