Do I have to apply for financial aid every year?

Yes.  Most financial aid offices require you to submit a financial aid application every year.  Primarily, this is to take into account any changes in your family or financial circumstances since the previous application -- for example, a change in employment status or in the number of family members attending college could affect your financial aid award.  Additionally, many financial aid programs require that you make satisfactory academic progress to remain eligible for student aid, for example by completing a certain number of course credits or maintaining a minimum grade point average (GPA).
